21 Point Business Checklist
This checklist is more like a blueprint, it can be layered over your business plan easily.
You can take each part, any part or all of it and go deeper if you need a more thorough investigation by using our training courses at our Business Training Academy.
content_box title=”LOOK AT YOUR 3 R’s” icon=”fa-dice-three fas” We look at the 3 R’s of the post-sales process; or if you are just starting out, you need these in place. They are KEY to gaining more business, reduction in advertising cost, builds loyalty and allows you to get first hand insight as to how your customers & clients view what you deliver!
COMPETITION” “fa-search-plus fas” Competition, knowing about your competition is key when starting out and definitely a key area if your business is not growing. Knowing how they communicate, their pricing, their traffic and their engagement points can give vital information. You need to focus on yourself, but sometimes taking your eye off the ball can give ground for someone else to get ahead.
MISSION STATEMENT” icon=”fa-tty fas”
What message are you conveying to your prospective customers. What does your ‘brand’ say via your logo, does it convey to your customers through your website? Does it look professional, is it more ‘relaxed’ in style, is it consistent, does it follow through on all touch points? Some businesses just happen, people get business through natural contacts, personal charisma but others need to set up and get their business through advertising, traffic and consistent brand promotion.
PRODUCTS/SERVICES” “fa-gifts fas”
What products you sell or services you offer may just not be offered to the right market. Are you trying to sell dial phones when everyone wants a mobile? Are you sitting on a corner offering shoe cleaning services outside student college? Or are you selling high end jewellery in Bond Street, London? You can be out of time, in the wrong location or the right location but in a crowded one. Your products need to be in the right place, right audience and with the right structure – otherwise you have to spend an awful lot creating demand; small businesses don’t normally have that.
Knowing the key areas to look in is key, not all areas will apply; but most will directly.
